Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards have transformed the way merchants approach processing credit cards. Recent widely reported security breaches that compromised hundreds of millions of credit card numbers highlight problems in the payment processing business.
Most payment processing systems are decades old. They are large, overly complex and built on old platforms in the pre-PCI area.
Nelnet Business Solutions is developing a new system for transaction processing from the ground up. Our solution will provide powerful payment processing options to merchants while minimizing the scope of the transaction processing liabilities.
We are seeking experienced payment application developers to join our team in building a secure, robust transaction processing application right from the start. Our design philosophy is to reduce complexity, to do one thing and do it well, and design with security first at every stage in the process. We are combining proven industry best practices with new ideas and Web 2.0 technology.
Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with strengths in: Web application security Java Oracle JavaScript / HTML / Ajax / Web 2.0
Ideal candidates have experience in: Developing transaction processing gateways Integrating merchant applications with payment processors Development of PCI level one systems Experience with PCI level one audits Rigorous commitment to unit testing and test-driven development Experience architecting high availability systems Research and development in experimental technologies
The individual applying for this position must be a willing to work as part of a team. We follow agile methodologies including pair programming. Developers work on a diverse team in an open workspace with other developers, project managers, technical support engineers, and others. Team members have no cubicles, but our office does have plenty of natural light and sunshine.
All team members are expected to be disciplined and productive completing their work in a 40 hour week. Overtime is rare. You must be open to constructive criticism as we often perform design reviews and compare your work estimates to the actual hours. Our team members are involved in the full lifecycle of development. We value honesty, enthusiasm, positive attitude, creativity, and problem solving skills.
